Exchange companies

RCI Weeks

The biggest brand name in exchange with the biggest range of resorts Worldwide to request from. Your resort week or club must be "affiliated" to RCI for you to be able to apply for membership.

Ratings at resorts are two fold. Firstly an exchange members vote, after a holiday, scores, in ascending order; standard, hospitality, Resort of Distinction (RID) or Silver Crown and Gold Crown and secondly RCI has its own key rating, used in RCI points with key factors from just 1 key going up to 5 key and 5L

RCI Points

A new 'points' valued exchange, whereby all weeks with participating developers have a value and Points is like a vast floating exchange system where you spend your value owned by requesting availability at a fixed points usage allocation. Values being topped up every year and are fixed by resort key grading, apartment size, destination location, sq. footage of apartment and kitchen type, number of bathrooms and apartment size and privacy rating.

Interval International

Known in the trade as the Quality exchange network, Interval tends to have a higher luxury level than its close rival RCI, having such famous brands as Marriott's and Hyatt. It also has a dual exchange, which means you can bank a week and request another at a different time or place or you can ask for another week and not relinquish your own until you get it.

Quality ratings in Interval are standard, which tends to be at least 3 star, as there is a generally higher starting threshold than RCI and the top level of 5 star. You should own a 5 star if you wish to exchange into a 5 star.

VivaAccess

Exchange version of Viva for existing owners of their own fixed weeks. Some weeks come with 5 years membership built in, costs £69 a year for membership otherwise. Owners of fixed weeks can pay to upgrade seasons or unit sizes to a higher or larger one

Dial an Exchange

A fairly simple but nevertheless effective exchange network which is free to join and exchange weeks cost just £74 on a first come first served no rules basis. No rules being anywhere anytime, though they do have a paid for gold membership system. Although there aren't a huge stock of weeks to choose from there is nevertheless a fast turnover of selection with generally a thousand or more weeks available at any one time in Europe alone. Component parts of Dial an exchange operate in Australia and the USA adding weeks from these locations to the melting pot.
