Andrew & Vikki welcome you to our Shepherds Hut and River Keepers Huts newly built offering a unique opportunity for a memorable stay in these beautiful Huts based on a working man’s home from days gone by but with modern extras such as power points, electric light and a wood burning stove to create that original feel and a 4 foot double bed, under the bed is stored a Futon mattress which can be used for a child if you bring a sleeping bag. This is Glamping with the emphasis on glamour!

We have a fire pit and barbeque for those warm evenings or just  enjoy a leisurely lunch and take the opportunity of introducing yourselves to our resident Donkeys, Nancy and her baby Dudley, who are friendly and appreciate a pat.

There is also another Hut disguised as a washroom with a large sink and hot water and a flushing chemical toilet, next to this is a new Spacious Shower Hut, and behind a separate kitchen with cooking facilities, including a fridge and microwave with a breakfast bar offering views over the grounds and ancient woods which surround our home. We now have a brand new purpose built 4 Berth Bathing Machine Hut, with private terrace, to cope with our tremendous success since opening.

Waydown Cottage has been our home for nearly 21 years which is set in 4 acres of land and surrounded by a beautiful wood and our only neighbours are the Jack and Jill Windmills, Pyecombe Golf Course and the 3 Greys Stables, however we have the benefit of superb facilities within a few minute’s walk including Marks and Spencer’s Simply Foods at the local Garage 2 minutes’ drive or 10 minutes’ walk away.

The local village pub “The Plough” offers a wonderful choice of cuisine and fine wines in their conservatory restaurant, or enjoy a beer or glass of wine with a choice of snacks in the bar, they also provide a take away service. Hassocks is our local village with all the usual range of shops and a selection of eateries and the railways station is on the main London to Brighton line, the historic Town of Lewes in 15 minute’s drive away, with Cosmopolitan Brighton 15 minutes away and for those wishing to visit London it is a 90 minute drive or 60 minute train ride.
