Converting a timeshare you already own is easy enough and is not only straight forward but done by post.

If new to ownership there are two options,  buy as many points as you need, and this is the cheapest purchase option, or you can buy the timeshare weeks of your choice and then 'utilise' them as points, this way you retain resort rights and obligations.

One of the most popular options is owning a collection of weeks where the added advantage is first right home priority of the selected resorts.

So you could buy and convert weeks directly to points with the advantage of more than one home resort priority.

Owning at a resort means you would have the obligations and rights of an owner. So you would pay the management fee and have the voting rights. Whatever the resorts status currently is would match your points value.

Owning pure points means your points value is fixed and not dependant on a resorts performance. So there are merits and securities to both styles of purchase.
